cubic25 Berry doesn't think it's the sensors, but rather the wiring going to the sensor. I suppose I'll just wait until Wednesday and see what the auto elec says.
cubic25 Found the issue. Apparently there is a heating element in the PCV. The element has shit itself and is a dead short. It has been disconnected for now, as a temporary fix. -In warmer climates like Australia, how important is this element? -Is there any harm in leaving it disconnected if no faults are logged? -It looks like a major PITA to replace. Is it? Thanks.
cubic25 Picture of the part I am taking about. If you look closely, near the filter housing, you can see that it is disconnected.
cubic25 Found some info on it here: http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?172930-Oil-Trap-pre-heater-Tell-me-more Apparently it is a heater to get rid of condensation. Sounds pretty necessary. I'm surprised the car hasn't thrown a code yet. Could it be a sign that the PCV is about to shit itself?
Philia_Bear It's a resistive element They do go bad Pcv is an easy replacement on these cars and is super duper well documented because of how many issues the 05/06 had with pcv
