1971_144GL I have also had this issue. Turned out to be a block in the actual fuel line. Compressed air in the line from the engine end at first had resistance, then pop, and whatever was in the line ended up back in the tank. I still have to clean the tank, and next time I would disconnect both ends. Took me allot of frustrating attempts to get my brain working and include the metal line itself as the possibile blockage location.
