^ Useless Parcel Sircus are a total PITA and tend to play games.
If you've made your order to a vendor with an initial - e.g. "J. Smith" - instead of a full name, e.g. "John Winston Smith", UPS lie to you that Customs won't release your package without your full name. Even when the value of your shipment is below $1000.
But a phone call to Customs quickly proves their claim is bullshit, and a check of the UPS website reveals they harvest and resell any personal info they collect.... unless you opt out. That's why they want full names.
Also, UPS are not very diligent about telling you when you need to pay import duty - they'll claim to have contacted you when they haven't - so keep an eye on the tracking of your delivery.
For these reasons, I opt for USPS or FedEx wherever possible.
