So I bought this 88' 240gl with an M45 off @Justian to replace the S70, I decided I wanted to get back into a manual RWD car, after a bit of searching found this one for the right price. The plan for it is a track car (primarily drifting) that I can daily drive, it needs a fair bit of maintenance to get it back on the road, so I will start there then move onto performance modifications.

It was pretty dark by the time I finished moving cars about, so didn't get to fiddle with it much yet, but first 'mod' was the wheels and adaptors off of the S70.

Interesting, s70 out of reg?
Was going to be out in October, why?
The way I understood it, the s70 was just a daily, so to replace it with a project car seems odd unless the s70 was out of rego.
What can I say, I like to party!
Plus I have a work vehicle...
That explains everything then ;)
a month later
Get in the boot battery!

Found a nice spot for my wideband display too...

Hope we can tandem some time.
Two blue 240s skidding in sync *pure bliss*
This one is silver, might possibly be a different colour by the time it's on the road, but I'm down for tandems!
My bad looks a lil blue in the night pic

Would love to see some volvo skids at archy!
It will hopefully be there quite regularly once it is on the road.
20 days later
Freshened the front up with a touch of black paint.

Weekend race cars need tunes too!

Got a set of extractors for all the horsepower ?

Also got a dodgy eBay cup holder because all my other cars have cup holders and I'm used to having somewhere to put my beverage.

Also treated it to a new timing belt, water pump & hoses.

Wow, that's a lot of stereo gear for a car that is meant to be a race car. The amp seems excessive! As do 500w speakers to be fair. What's the rms on them?

70RMS, I like sound quality with my stereo's, I feel like this is fairly conservative. I could've put another amplifier, component speakers and subs in an enclosure to make it excessive...
Wow. All that extra Weight! The stock head units are pretty good now from jvc for controlling up to 40wrms I find and I can never run my stereo loud enough for it to distort before my ears hurt...

We definitely have different ideas for track cars.

Well it is a weekend track car, if we weren't all individuals we wouldn't be so unique now would we.
I'm amazed that you know how heavy it is by looking at a photo ?
I'm confident it won't impact the cars performance to greatly.
