It's been a while since I posted anything about the eVolvo. Had a minor issue the other day. The "check engine" light came on (we have it wired to the Zilla HV motor controller's fault code output). After a bit of investigation and having a look at the various controller parameters via the on-screen display, the controller was getting hot. I checked the coolant circuit and sure enough, no flow. The coolant is circulated by a small 12v gaming PC water pump. When we did the conversion, I had bought 2 of them, so I swapped in the spare and all good to go. The lack of any significant maintenance & repairs on this car has been pretty nice. 🙂 Oh, and contrary to popular belief, EVs are not "throw-away cars" after "10 years". (I got that comment on the iRoll FB group from an EV-hater LOL). This one has been going fine for about 14 years on first-generation Chinese LiFePO4 batteries. Yes, they probably have lost some capacity, but it hasn't really affected us as we only use the car for local run-around duties.
