jamesinc So I've been gearing up for this for ages. When I was selling the 360, along the way I ended up with a 240GLE that had been sitting in @Philia_Bear's yard for a few years. It was mostly complete and seemed solid enough, so its the new amateur race wagon project. I also picked up an '87 245 (the Doomwagon) and tonight finally pulled the M47 from it. Also today I rebuilt the brapwagon's front suspension with King lowering springs and Bilstein HD struts. It needs new ball joints and one of the sway bar droplinks is missing, but they'll all come from the doomwagon (pictured below losing its engine).
jamesinc @Sivii I don't sorry, one was smashed anyway when the donor wagon fell off a trailer and went for a stroll down the road.

jamesinc Here's some more photos of the brapwagon. Today I finished removing the manual parts from the donor wagon, and replaced the main fuel pump with the one from the donor, and then did the spark plugs, cap and rotor, and oil and filter. The injectors need new o-rings as they are leaking, but it runs shitty on four cylinders now, whereas before it was running shitty on three. We suspect it's just really old fuel, so will be draining the tank next weekend and putting in some fresh 98.

jamesinc Finally got a bit more done. Figured out the shitty idle was a hole in the inlet pipe after the AMM. Drained the varnish and installed 20L of fresh 98. Finished bolting up the struts and brake lines and bled the brakes with @Philia_Bear. So now it's running and driving (in theory) and resting on its own wheels. To do now is put in front seats, new belts, actual coolant, tidy up the interior and take it for rego.

The white one goes to the crusher tomorrow morning Bonus points that we discovered it had brand new ball joints and brake lines in the front which were saved Also had poly bushings in the upper rear trailing arms (also saved)
jamesinc Small update, today I got a seat into it, repaired the bonnet catch, put actual coolant in, and cleaned out all the stuff from the trunk. I'm going to see about registering it as a two-seater.
jamesinc And now the flywheel is on its way to @Vee_Que for drilling and surfacing. I need to find a passenger seat rail also.
