Ha me and the missus were talking tonight after the wheeler dealers show of the 850, she said how many of these cars do you see on the road (V70XC) well how many? We honestly though it would have been written off, but the insurance said it was repairable, which we were both very happy and greatfull of as we both have some sort of attachment to it.
The insurance company have it listed for 7k which was a surprise!.
On a positive note finally fixed the abs/trax lights by reflowing the solder, the dash has now got an annoying rattle and we need to sort out the blown door cards and the saggy roof lining in the rear.
This car just keeps on going, you can hammer the absolute shit out of it and it still supprises us.

So there will be some haters out there but I installed a wee 50w light bar on the V70XC today.
Was pretty painless as it was a pre wired loom and very straight forward, sorry for the shit photo its a $40 phone from kmart.

I've got two new different sizes here but postage probly more than worth. Never used on my old v70, was going on a roof rack cross rail or under bumper iirc.

Yeah that one was $30-40 from mem, had it lying in the shed for months. Has to be an improvement on the crap lights

Gav, I was building a hybrid set of headlights for v70.
I got one done but not complete or tested, the hard part was splicing the Lexus es300 half cut onto the front c70 plastic but its good.
So, twin hid type lights per unit with full adjustability still. Clear glass cover same as existing v70 but no flutes this came from aftermarket units.

Well it's been a few months, probably gathered that I have been busy with the 122, but the V70 is requiring some love.

I finally got round the to dash and removed it this afternoon, have to admit it's one of the easier jobs on the 70.

Also the pass door check strap has given up the ghost and will be welded back up this week end.

As you can tell fron the picts the drivers side mount is completely gone, was looking at fibre glassing up the hole and supporting the mount with some plumbers strap, any other ideas?

Also the lower supports have gone on the footwells

They're the shitiest shit plastic...

Those side ones don't do much,I glued the top ones,reinforced with automotive body black sealer glue stuff and washers and anything I could get in there with it still fitting....good luck

@Ex850R got it done and installed, but yeah it's really shit plastic. Ended up using plumbers strapping and fibre glassing them in place.

Popped the front passenger door off and resecured and welded up the door check strap, it's now silent and nice and smooth.

The rear pass side window was an issue with the master switch not proving power to the poo ass door switch, was able to bridge the wiring to get it working.

Took it for a drive and it's now alot quieter and the dash isn't shaking its skf to pieces.
