  • Oz Volvo National Meet 2014

Tigabu;11811 wroteThe Two-headed contingent would like a weekend of it, as for us to bring Volvo content we're talking about a week's worth of travel...
I think we should just have another meetup in Tasmania at another time. I've heard so many good things about driving in Tas that I'd be willing to put the car on the ferry and bring it over.
i'd be down to that as well.....pending someone helping me install cruise control on my beauty.
TaSmania is lovely , roads are great , even purple coloured road!
Yup, and quite a few green/yellow ones
What about Dubbo as a location? I've been meaning to go to the Western Plains Zoo but never got around to it when I lived in Canberra.
I like Parkes better. Anyway if you really wanted to see the zoo, Dubbo is only about 100km away.
120kms or 1hr 19mins according to Google maps.
If we came down, I'd make Dubbo the home base, so that we could go to the Zoo the next day.
We stayed in Parkes when we did the zoo, quite a bit cheaper and nicer imo.
Keen as mustard for a national meet. Parkes works for me.

Also keen for this
I've not been to Parkes; we went to Dubbo and turned <s>right</s>... left, the other right....

I might be here, I might not be... what I do know is that I'm unlikely to have a Volvo!
And the bowls hat for the back shelf...
I was always going to make a holder for one for the wagons I have had. I missed the opportunity when I had an S70....
Parkes is good. Dubbo is a 'nothing commute' from there 100ish kms isnt worth stressing about.
I mean it is obvious that closer is better, in fact If you want to hold it at my place that would be awfully convenient..................... for me.

Wherever we go it is going to be a fair hike for someone. I think Parkes is fair considering the fact that we even have some interest from Tasmanians. A quick calculation of the centre of population of the people who have shown interest in the meet puts us another 243km south, Near Gundagai.

Even if we don't count the Tasmanian's (when in fact by headcount they should get 2 votes each :D) we end up with a centre of population near Young.

I think we should take Parkes while we are ahead. ;)
