Slowbrick;28410 wroteOr my fukin 240 which hasnt run right for about 4 months
I think its linked to the BMW
BMW has been dead for pretty much the exact same time as your thingy
I'm Fixing the BMW this weekend.... maybe yours will start behaving as well?
I sure hope so! Its like a damn curse. Everytime I get it running something else breaks. My solution is I now ride a bicycle to work. Its more reliable and its performance is only affected by how hungover i am from the night before.
At this stage I am going to have to withdraw from attending :(
Olga is currently getting a replacement fuel rail (thanks Mark) installed and I will hopefully still attending!
Perhaps a roll call of who is still attending is a good idea?
We have an attendance spreadsheet.

In terms of cars, 22 confirmed, 3 tentative, and I think one or two non-Volvos also.

In terms of people, 27 adults 4 children

In terms of awards categories (you'll love this)

3 - Vintage/1xx
9 - 2xx
3 - 3/4/7/9
5 - 850/Modern
Next year I think I will split the pre-78 2xx into the Vintage category to try and even the numbers a bit.
Are you intending to run a show and shine every year?

To be honest it puts me off a bit, because I don't have a show quality car.

Perhaps a cruise or track day could be something more people can enjoy?
I don't know at this point. I'll do whatever peeps want to do. The show'n'shine is not very formal; it's not like the NSW club event where everyone takes it a bit more seriously. There's also an award for project car and most defectable. :P
My mind blanks out the shine part although I did wash off the thickly caked oil on the paintwork so only a thin, normal layer remains. I see it as turn up, open up car, explain all of the odd bodges.
We still doing the onesie lounge night?
I don't see how it could be a serious show'n'shine. Think about it, everyone is driving hundreds of km to get there, the cars are going to pick up lots of dust and bugs on the way, I don't want people driving for hours to get there then having to spend more time just to wash their car again.

You made your run too early. You'll have a thick layer of oil again before the end of next week!

That makes me feel better about bringing my crapheap.
Mines no show car either, far from it, just an untouched original (complete with carpark battle scars)
My wife is coming with me now James, I wouldn't have mentioned her at payment time, but she has the day off work now.
I always took it as an opportunity to meet and hang out with you guys. Put faces to names.

I never took the show n' shine thing seriously, as my car is an unfinished project. I have panels on it from 3 cars :)

The red car is mad. I showed Rach a photo of it before and she thought it was pretty damn cool as do I. Show car doesnt translate to shiny un used car that looks more like the inside of a highrise apartment.
At this stage it looks like I'll be taking the 740. There's no way I can get the 244 presentable in time. It still looks better than the 740, but I really don't care how presentable the 740 is.
740's are terrible. Take your 240.
