Picked this one up Thursday afternoon from an old lady who said it was her first car... It hadn't been driven for over a year so we Took it for a spin around the block and all seemed fine but as soon as it got hot it started to play up, ended up needing a new fuel pump, some vacuum hoses and injector seals. It's running well now!

Being a long weekend we thought we would get stuck into it and lower it right away

Tim Found these on gumtree on Friday morning
For $250
Bbs rs reps with a rather rough black paint job and machined lips
18x8 fronts
18x9.5 rears with positive 30 offset
Did our calculations and they will fit nicely with 20mm hub adapters

Paint stripped the center and removed what was left of the plastic fake nuts.
Then threw them onto the brake lathe and sanded the machine marks from the lip and hit them with the josco wheel

Gave them a fresh coat of paint and now just waiting on the spacers to arrive!

Friday evening we started the flat front conversion! We have been hoarding bits and pieces from wrecks and donated cars over the last little while and now finally have a 240 we can transplant it all onto.

Test fit went well!

Pulled it all back apart to weld up the trim clip holes and prime it.
Freshened up the front bumper, grill, front lip and all the rest of the plastic trim. Just missing a right hand headlight trim!

Took some pics of the wheels up against the 244 and I think they will look pretty sweet!

Tim Did a little bit of electrical troubleshooting this afternoon and we added a rear louvre:)

Next on the cards is to make a coilover kit for it, order some roll center adjusters to get it handling a bit better, tidy up the back end and get her ready for a closed door re spray.

Ha wagon is still being worked on! Just have to finish a few things before the next update.
This one is just a little side project and a daily! but yes there are thoughts in the works as to how we will propel this one down the road a little bit quicker!

Wow amazing work (just discovered your other builds). Am excited to see how this will turn out. With the bbs rs, If you could pick any wheel size, would you keep 18 or go bigger/smaller?

I actually originally wanted to do some 15" widened steelies but then Tim found the 18"s bbs reps and I honestly think they will look amazing so I'd say I would probably still stick with the 18"s. The plan is to lower it so the lip of the rim lines up with the arches.

Other than the front guards, what other body parts did you have to swap over from the 82 front to fit the 75-78 front lights and grille?

There really wasn't much to it just guards, front valance and technically you would need to change the headlight brackets but as we don't yet have the 75-77 headlight buckets we retro fitted some Amazon buckets for the meantime.

So I had a set of pb coilovers left over after bagging the c30 and thought why not see if we can make them work in the 244. The Weight is roughly the same! Started on it this morning and drove home on coilovers this evening.

Started off with the 244 strut and the c30 coilover

Took some measurements and started cutting and making components

And this is the end result

This is the lowest setting. I have close to 80mm of height adjustment.

This is the hight I'm running at now.

Forgot to take photos of the rear set up so will take some tomorrow.

Extremely happy and surprised with the ride quality and how it Handels with the c30 suspension in it! Will only get better when I order some roll center adjusters from @AshDVS. And so far the suspension has only cost me $60 in steel!!

Are the gaurds going to be sorted as well? I guess it's the trend to have a car just slammed, but otherwise looking unfinished, but it just looks like it needs paint to me.

Score on the rims, and having a mate with access to a workshop to help out. I can imagine why they were so cheap, my 17x8s with 35 offset and 25mm spacers rub when my wagon is loaded because the panhard rod is fixed as it's a car to be used on all roads and fit carrying and towing. But if it did get lowered to look cool, I'd need to roll the gaurds even with an adjustable panhard bar, and that's on a 740 which has more room in the arch. So are you rolling the gaurds too? What pcd are the rims?

What size tyre are you going? I hope it's something meaty, not a 205/35....

Also interesting you count the coilovers as free, were they unsellable for some reason?

Planning on doing a closed door respray when everything else is sorted.

Have worked out all the spacing and it's not going to rub. Front guards will be rolled and I've pie cut the rears.

Tyres are
215/40/18 on 8" with 20mm pcd adaptors for the front and 225/40/18 on 9.5" with 30mm pcd adaptors for the rear. Slightly stretched to eliminate rubbing

Wheels are 5x114.3

Will be making my own panhard bar to suit.

Coilovers were a gift so they cost me nothing and had just been sitting under the house collecting dust.

I run 225s on my 8s, and it's a square, the front tyres look square, would love to see it with wider tyres on the rear to justify the rims!

I keep looking at this and then thinking about picking up another 240 (after all, I've got to do something with my 240 parts stash!) ;)

Great work, with your fab skills, panhard bar is easy as are a heap of other things.
