I popped into the mechanics (who is also a good mate of mine) today to adjust the height of the rear springs. I wanted it raised a little because since getting the B8's for the front, it was sitting much higher than the rear.
Having the adjustable spring perches made it a breeze. It also surprised me how much play it allowed. We turned the adjuster 6 times, which allowed us to raise the rear of the car 10mm. For those that are wondering, by adjuster, I mean the center allen key in the following pic:
As you can tell, there is still plenty of thread left, so I could raise it heaps more if I wanted to........or buy an XC60.
While I was there, we fixed my Volvo badge:
Does anyone know the best place to get a new sticker?
I also told him about my headlights not levelling, so he plugged in his $3500 fancy looking ipad thingy and pulled a few codes. All of them cleared, except one for the front headlight sensor. The code was 8F22.
As you can tell, we tried to calibrate the headlights, but it wouldn't let us due to the fault.
As the visit was a freebie, I didn't want to take up too much of his time, so I couldn't ask a lot of questions. (He had a paying customer waiting to pick up his car).
Do you guys think I'm up for a new sensor, or could it be something else causing the issue?
I'm guessing by front sensor, it means that thing connected to the front drivers side shock?
I'm hoping it's not the actual headlight module.
Interestingly, when I started the car, it was telling me that I had a headlight failure and to call the service department. Both headlights still work. I cleared the readout and it hasn't come back.
Annoyingly, I can't remember how long I've had the issue for, so I'm not even sure if it is related to the accident I had 6 months ago, where the front right headlight was smashed and needed replacing.
EDIT: I'd also like to re-iterate how good the car feels now with the new set up. I effing love it. It feels very solid. Much better than FSD's.
