what's missing from this cart – other than any exciting go fast bits ?
some of these are for later, like the oil pan kit

I keep hearing bad things about Pro Parts bushings. I'd go Lemforder
pastry
yeah i've never heard much good about them either in the Saab world. Confirmed!

One thing - Double check that PCV kit. Match the picture to the one you've got. Pretty sure I had to get the one with "II" on the end of the name. It was spot on correct though. Mine doesn't have much of the metal piping exposed on the major pipework, it has the foamy type black insulation.

Howzitgarn? Any further progress @pastry ?
pastry
nah mate
well, yeah – PB is sorting me a good used engine and it's going up to his place next week for a go over.
I'm going to get the NRMA out today so I can have it towed back to my place for the time being. Hey, they might even get it going!
pastry
had the NRMA chap out and he reckons fuel pump too. Now there actually is no fuel at the rail! My basic check was too basic.
So, I'll tow it home and put a new pump in. That'll save me some towing fees to Bankstown..!
Bollocks, should've taken a better look at it! I blame the kids.

You were quite hasty, but then, you are very small. Haroom.

I am not a Hobbit, Tom. More like a Troll.

anyone got a clue how to check if I have the 68L tank? Plastic vs metal? Crawl under and find a P/N I suppose? Does it really matter?
(so I can order the correct fuel pump from FCP)
jamesinc
Part number, or pull the old fuel pump first?
pastry
nah i need to order that special removal tool as well, so all or nuthin'!
Philia_Bear
You checked the fuse?
pastry
duh, of course! <runs out to check>
pastry
OK i remember i did check the fuses on one very rainy, sleep deprived day. They checked out, and still do. I have a 3 week old and a 2 year old.. forgive me, it's hard to remember stuff! ;)
Fuel tank is plastic with P/N 8683631, looks like it's the 72L version.
Philia_Bear
VEK Tools in sydney should sell the special tool for removing the tank cap, other wise the tool is available on ebay for dirt cheap
pastry
ordered the FCP one. Look like it all won't arrive until next week though.
