The orings if green or black are probobly a standard size that you can get from a quality industrial hydraulic shop
Pastry's suspiciously cheap XC90 2.5T
Rego achieved!
First day back on the road and I get a call “the key won’t turn I’ve been trying for 10 minutes”
bloody car!
got it to turn/start. Seems to only happen when steering lock is on.
Haven't updated here for aaaages.
Still working its arse off!

Getting ever closer to 300,000km, and no major issues.
Had a front strut fail (tore itself in two, literally) and lost a coil on the highway 20km from home, both a little inconvenient at the time but easily diagnosed and fixed – local Bursons even had a pair of Sachs struts in stock.

Recently acquired this beast (1987 900 Aero), which is going to be one for the long haul.. and possibly another thread

I was wondering last night how it was going....
Want to upgrade to a d5?
OOo that Aero looks nice ?
- Edited
@Philia_Bear I've thought about a V8 :D Mark in Goulburn had one that looked good.. but sticking with this ol' bus to the bitter end I think!
The Aero actually isn't very nice @rado, it came from QLD where it had been stored poorly, the interior stripped, and filled with all kinds of crap aka parts. Some mice lived in it for a bit, and the bloke who gave it to me said he pulled a carpet python out of it – presumably a fat one.

Still, it was cheap at $0 invested + $45 for a tyre to get it off the trailer. At least initially... my view on this stuff is if you can't afford to buy a really, really good one, you'll probably find problems in a cheaper option, and end up pulling it apart and spending loads anyway. So what's the difference? (hmm well, maybe the cost of the paint job it'll need..)
Engine is now out.. naturally very very happy to talk about it but this should probably be another thread!

Past 300,000km on the big fella ?
It's developed a couple of additional old age health issues
ICM is dead (head unit won't turn on, assume dead caps)Pass side window regulator is b0rked – thought it would just be the retaining clips but instead one of the arms is bent :/Sometimes seems to pull left under braking at speed, which can feel a bit hairy - must look at that soon, shed still full of Saab and def will be for the foreseeable. Not sure if caliper is sticking or something like that?- - -
Regardless of the drama over these years and 29 pages (!) of OzVolvo thread, it's been a fantastic vehicle and now I can only think of it as a faithful old friend. We've put at least 80,000km on it and it continues to move us about in comfort and safety, and the shape has aged quite gracefully IMO. It's absolutely my kind of vehicle.
We're intending to get another year out of it so I'll be hoping to give it some care over the next 12-ish months - probably due a belt change, and I'll be fixing the above issues. And then? I guess it'll go to a new custodian - the thought worries me, it deserves to keep rolling but not everyone is quite so stupid as I am :P
But until then – 300,000 deserves a bit of recognition. It's just a number, but it's a number that tells a story about a quality bit of Swedish metal.
My V8 is just about to clock 400,000. Over half of that was me, and it's been fantastic also. They grow on you, but then again so does fungus. I had a SAAB 99 EMS which I bought for a case of beer - but that was the 1990s. Loved that car too. Fantastic engine with great fuel consumption for its day.
I did shit...

Funking chunk of random steel in the ground....

Ooooof. You still need an amateur excavator operator at some point? I am about 6 years out of practice by now but very experienced in hitting water mains! ?
2 choices
1 I posted in the wrong thread
2 the fate of your xc90 is to be the wheels of a car trailer

I think I'm up to near 300+ hours on mine
It's Scarry how much you use one after you get one
