carnut222 Before I got my license, I convinced my parents to buy an orange 73 Super Beetle with brown, yellow and red stripes on it. It had the dreaded (or fun?) automatic stick shift. Great because you could hold your hand on the gear lever while stopped, Rev the engine then just let go and it would dump the clutch and chirp the tyres. I think my dad sold the car before I even got my license as it was a gutless wonder and the AC sucked (we lived in Tulsa OK at the time...very hot in summer). So my first car became the 75 245 instead. Continuing the air cooled Germans thread, my parents' first car was a 1960 Beetle...dark green with the big chrome bumper Overrider bars. They then upgraded to a 1969 (iirc) also dark green. I remember being at the bank drive through with my mom (I was probably in kindergarden at the time). Smoke started billowing from the frunk and somebody said "your car is on fire!" Being winter in Michigan, there was a lot of snow around so they opened the frunk and threw snow on it. I think it might have been an electrical fault?? Fun times! I also remember once my dad had a minor crash in the car and dented the front guard. I cried when he got home as I loved that car and I was sad it got hurt. The first thing I ever drew as a kit was a VW Beetle, and I've been into cars ever since! :)

JocrisBeva I will also litter the thread with a water "cooled" German. My new purchase in celebration of my open moto licence. A 1994 BMW K75s with abs - Brick number 2.
