Hey guys,
Where's a good source for Euro style wiper blades at a reasonable price? I'm looking for a set for my 244 and also 745T.
Cheers!

Not sure anymore. They are not cheap for bosch and others are pish compared to them. Next to impossible to change the inserts too. Get new wiper blade assemblies from bosch but the premium one which has more cobtact points. Then change inserts every year.
Dauntless
More contact points?
Where do I find the Bosch ones you're talking about?

Repco have some although my local seemed to not restock...
Vee_Que
Online might be the easiest way. Supercheap could have them onkine even. Or eBay. On mobile so lining is annoying.

I had a look at SuperCheap, they have Tridon FlexBlade for $36 per blade, so $108 for the 3 blades I need. That seems excessive, but if they last a long time it's probably acceptable.
What length blades are required for a 1990 740 Turbo wagon?
From memory, SuperCheap lists 20" front and 13" rear for NA and 21" front 14" rear for Turbo, and 20" front 14" rear for 940. Any ideas?
If not, I'll measure what I have and if they're shorter, check if 1" longer will work?
Vee_Que
They don't last any longer than normal ones and the rubber inserts don't replace easily.
Dauntless
What do you suggest?
Vee_Que
I can't find them online. Its not the basic bosch wiper its the one up. It has 8 contact points you put an insert through not six. Do you need to change them all at once?

Bosch wiper blades are $5 each from FCP

I'm talking about Euro style blades, it sounds like you're just talking about normal ones?
Vee_Que
They aren't really euro style. They come stock on ve commodores even :p
Dauntless
The flex blade ones?
Looks like Bosch Evolution are $13 each from FCP, so for the 244 and 745's front wipers I'd be looking at just over $100. I'd like to know if they also fit bolt on type wiper arms, if so I'll also order a pair for the Hilux.

What Alex is saying is for the same performance get the good Bosch ones as you can't put new rubber in the blade type ones , I know , I tried and broke one in the process , its too hard to get the rubber so sit right in them so I went back to Bosch ones.
Not what you are asking though......
Dauntless
Ah, I see. Thanks for that.
When I fitted flexy blades to the Forester they solved the annoying wiper shake, I'm hoping they'll do the same for my other cars.
Ex850R
Yeah that is an annoying hing , i had put the passebger side on the drivers side cos it didnt shake now it did , i think cos my screen is crap its hard to get it right....
peeps can get good results with judicious bending of the arm and use of the 8 point bosch bit.
Vee_Que
I don't have wiper shake. Using new not 24 year old wiper blade units does solve that issue. 740 is vt passenger size.
Dauntless
I put new Tridon blades on all the cars about 2 years ago, they didn't make a difference to the wiper shake. Are they 20" or 21", do you know?
Vee_Que
Blades or inserts?
Vee_Que
I'd be checking the angle of the wipers then. But tridon ones are cheaper too. How often do you change the inserts? Or clean them? I'm amazed you can hear it over no exhaust on your car! :P
