Is it possible to replace the black plastic on top of the dash? The one with temp sensor on it? Mine is cracked beyond repair
850 dash repair
Find a good 850 dash if you can and replace the top , its the bit i think you mean?
Fiddly job , if your dash rattles and squeaks maybe do a dash out and put automotive body glue on the mounts and repair them or get that doner dash whole and fix it first. Fun job , not to hard really.

Apart from the Black plastic the dash is in great condition. I have a walnut dash so I'm keen to keep the original just want that broken black plastic shite replaced.
@Tydoggroyal I'm pretty sure you can't just buy replacement trim. You could in theory repair it, reinforce it from underneath, and then paint it to conceal the repairs, or make a new one out of some less brittle plastic (acrylic, or something, I don't know).
The trim is seperate to all this anyway.

I found a mint 850 dash at the wreckers. Got it out in half an hour (first time, 30-40º day) with basic tools and a guide on the web. The key is to remember to get all the tabs in the right spot when putting it back in, especially in the centre to the side of the middle air vents. I doubt it would've cost me three figures.
