In reference to repairing some wheels, Spac said: "These wheels seem to be made from the same cheese that Virgos are made from - they are both soft and easy to crack..."

In reference to any Volvo wheel, Snoopy said: "But you need to know they are round...and of course they are made of cheese so.... Thats why i go for any other wheel. Better if it says BBS or anything not made for Volvo , cheese ...."

In this thread Jay said: "Volvo wheels are made of cheese."

In this thread Ash said: "In all seriousness, I winced a few times during the ozvolvo meet on the way to Fitzroy falls with wheels made of cheese (Titans) and 215/40/17 tyres. lol."

Here egads says: "Looking really good and looking forward to seeing the neptunes fitted, such a cool wheel and not made of cheese! "

And there are many other examples about Volvo wheels.
Some other aftermarket wheels have also been mentioned in recent threads. I know at least one of those has a reputation for being quite soft, having read comments in other Volvo forums. Saying something very similar to: "Nice looking wheel but they are known for going out of shape."
Dauntless said in this thread: "Some years ago I heard of Eiker wheels being fairly soft, prone to rim bending. I don't know if that's still the case."

Of course Ash then replies: "I read that too, but it may be best to take it with a grain of salt." Which suggests it may not be accurate, but does not totally discount it either.
The OP asked for input. I made Egas aware of past comments I've seen both here and elsewhere. i.e. Buyer beware, due diligence, etc. If I saw someone about to buy a car that I knew the clock was wound back on, I would speak up. It's better than waiting until after they make a mistake.
Considering the quoted comments above are by others who frequent the same forum, are they over complicating all those threads? Or is it just ME the problem is with? The "as usual" seems to give the answer to that one.
I appreciate any answers you've given to my own questions, but man alive... you need to get that railway sleeper off your shoulder.
