Thanks, I use HP Tuners Pro / VCM Suite for all diagnostics/Gen IV tuning

Note to future self: When removing Cylinder #8 Intake pushrod, allow 2.5 hours to remove and refit clutch master cylinder which obscures this one and only pushrod from removal in the vehicle. #modifiedcarlife

I replaced all 16 pushrods with slightly longer units to increase the lifter preload. The hydraulic lifters were only on the verge of pumping-up using the LS9 cam and stock pushrods with it's 1.25mm smaller base circle. At least accessing the LS valvetrain is super easy. Just a few bolts and the coils are out. Four more and the rocker cover is off. Then it's just a matter of replacing each pushrod in turn, rocker-by-rocker:

I had a ride in my mates VF gts the other day, literally couldn't get all the power down with traction control off and 275 tyres, I can imagine how much throttle you can use on this most of the time!

Yep you have to be careful. Although I have a built-in traction control device at the moment in the form of a slipping clutch under high load.

I'm organising a new twin-plate clutch combo at the moment and will install over the xmas/new year break.

Not sure yet, Bauer media have a few different publications and media options be it print or online.

True, the standard of car builds have gone through the roof in recent years moving to an incredibly high standard of custom work.

Intention of this build is almost the opposite - preserve originality where possible, while adapting as many stock performance parts from other makes and models.

I thought about it, but I quite like that foreign part that has no business in a Volvo engine bay, it surprises even me when I go to check the oil!

I like thier definition of stock on the outside, those rims definitely don't look stock, nor does the height. But awesome otherwise.

Haha true, but also a lot of ex-Volvo owners coming out of the woodwork too.

The car is in LSX Tuner Magazine this month and Street Machine Magazine in June.

Didn't see that, but I guess it makes sense given the only reason it's featured in the lsx tuner issue is the engine.

If it was a built 16v they'd ignore it's existance just like they ignore anything with 4cyl that isn't a 1600 or beetle/kombi.
