What are your thoughts on a 2011 V8 with all the options $27k, but with 180kms (country kms) with towball, and no way to know what has been towing?
Agouti
If you can get a VIDA setup you can plug in and see what the transmission oil degredation counter is... Can't for the life of me remember what it's called. TMI? Something like that. It basically increments each time the TCM thinks the oil has been degraded through heavy use and is used to adjust the gearbox performance. When it gets high enough it also triggers an alert telling you the transmission oil needs replacing.
At the end of the day, though, country driving (even with some heavy towing) would probably be kinder than stop start City driving - especially with a lead foot. With that many km its probably done a few big trips around Australia with a caravan on behind which isn't that bad, though across the top end can get rough.
You could probably use the age of the tyres to help gauge how hard a life its had recently - if they are 3 years old and still have lots of rubber then it's more likely to have been pretty light duty.
At the end of the day though the test drive and inspection will be a better bet than guesswork about its past. Given it has all the options it was probably someone's pride and joy and treated with respect... $27k is a fair chunk of money to spend on a car with 180,000 on the clock though.

I'm the same on the KM's being too high for the price!
The engines are rates for 500,000KM but I worry about everything else with that many km's.
I'm not sure what needs to get replaced/checked/inspected with that many KMs but I can try and get the information out of my maintenance schedule book for you if you like.

Moojie, are you in Melbourne?
Moojie
Yeah I am.
Moojie
I do tend to agree with the high kms
I've found a very nice car but in bloody NSW.

I almost bought a Volvo from NSW (I'm in Mlebourne myself) and then after you factor in new registration, additional taxes, roadworthy (which is a must and that's if they don't find anything wrong), additional permit to drive it to VicRoads, then you don't end up on top.
Also factor in airplane costs to get to NSW, and everything else around getting to the car before you drive it back to Melbourne, and the fuel! *gulp*
I found it safer (and cheaper) to buy from within my state.

Yeah I've looked into it all. Probably add $2500-$3000 to the price of the car. Pain in the bum, but there seems to be more available interstate. Just take my time I think and wait for the right one.
Agouti
I bought interstate (Vic to NSW) it was about $1000 all up, I drove it home though. Blueslip was $80, $60 for a pre Dawn flight to Melbourne, plus fuel, ctp, rego. Had a friend's to sleep at half way which helped.
I was quoted $700 to have it trucked up, could probably have gotten a better deal too. You could even ask in the Volvo Logistics thread, might be someone wanting to drive something down your way and they could take your car and fly back.

Does anyone know if there are any techs that are trusted like Berry or Voldat in Sydney? That would meet me for a private sale and give the car a once over prior to purchase?
Very interested in a car interstate.....for the right price

Case of beer!! Damn!!!
If you get your VEDA Software Upgrade license again, then I'll happily drive up to Sydney, and give you two cases of beer for a software upgrade? :)

Also, the car looks great! I'm very jealous!

I'm the one that's jealous! you guys already drive one.
If i can talk him down to $30K, i'd be happy, need to pay an extra $2k to transfer and reg in vic. I've asked for a few more pic, but so far no response.

Its only been serviced at a korean auto place
Its not been back to volvo once since purchase as far as i can see
It needs a service 2.0 now for updated software
Also they went too far between services and i doubt they did anything more than change the oil/filter
Brake fluid would be over due and it would need a few other things as well
I can still plug vida into it and get further info for you

Ohh i despair at how some treat their nice cars , not doing oil is criminal , bald tyres on late model cars , uuuggghhh.
But , i digress , lets hope this is a good one , the lack of servicing could be bargaining chip?
