Its slightly funny
The bigger dog is a total dope and scared of his own shadow
The smaller one is great around everything but small dogs that she just wants to play with and then think about eating

I..am..truly..peeved..off! :(
I just noticed three tiny paint chips on the rear left side passenger door when I was leaving the shopping centre today.
I'm not sure if it happened there, but I'm so disappointed at myself for trusting the world!
The chips aren't big, but it's killing me!!
I'll take a photo tomorrow as its too dark now.

The first picture is the trim part on the back right passenger side door.
The second is the two scratch marks up very close.
The third one is the door, and you can see those two scratch marks from picture two very faintly in the middle of the door.

Bugger. Plasti dip the vehicle it and let it be the sacraficial layer.

To top it off:
1/ I was testing the speaker system and I may have done something to my right hand side front door speaker. It sound a bit scratchy when it goes above 30-40 percent volume like I've blown it. I touch the plastic speaker grill and the scratchiness disappears. Any ideas?
2/ My average speed seems to stay at 31 km for some reason when I cycle through the information panel. Arghh!
bigal
Maybe a sensitive or weak connection to a speaker there. Shouldn't be too hard to find n fix but will be a door card removal no doubt. Have you tried giving the inner door a good old thump?
My average speed in the xc90 always reads low like that even though most of my driving is 100kmph. Usless reading I find.

Use the Reset button on the stalk. Hold it down for a few seconds.
bumperplates
I may leave those two niggly things until the next service as I'm too scared to give my car a thump. It doesn't deserve it even though it's breaking my heart today :)
bumperplates
Agouti.. Is that to press RESET when you're on that screen or just press and hold RESET regardless where it is. Would that also reset the average L per 100 km as well?
bumperplates
I suppose worst case for the speaker is that I get it replaced... I hope it isn't too expensive :)
bigal
I have to give my passenger door a punch every few weeks. I hate buzzing and rattles so it's a must. Works every time.
bumperplates
Hmm maybe I can pay someone who is qualified at thumping car doors! Any takers? :)

Another thing to try, if you have a traditional volume dial then turn it back and forward fast for 20seconds or whatever.. Could be a dirty volume pot/dial thingy. I use this trick in my audi to get a clean sound every now and then. Seeing as though u push on the speaker though it sounds more like a not so solid speaker wire.
bigal
Holding the reset will reset that screen you're in only.
bumperplates
Yeah I've changed the balance to the speakers so it doesn't annoy me too much for now so that's OK. I try what you said Bigal with the volume up down trick and maybe a light bump :)

I wonder if the dealer disguised these marks with polish. I notice my xc was gleaming and looking really good when I got it.. Then after a few weeks started noticing things that werent there before like light scratches. Could it be that the dealer polish is wearing off? I've heard they use that coloured polish to hide things.
bumperplates
The thing is that it doesn't look like its fresh so that's why I'm not sure whether it happened at the shopping centre. I even went as far as emailing the centre staff to see if they had footage of anything near my car - even though I know that won't go anywhere.

Do you give your car a wash, clean, and polish at home? If so what do you use to keep it looking new and hide these "blemishes"?
bigal
Yes I wash it at home. I bought a bottle of the coloured polish and works well. Turtle product.. Comes with a coloured wax stick for deep stuff. I bet the marks were there all along. Wash with "ph neutral" (i think that's what it's called) car soap which wont strip the polish off so easily.
