BAD NEWS! Amy had a prang. Totally my bad. Was a difficult situation to navigate. I was stuck behind a right-turning car, and I didn't really want to pull out from behind them due to the traffic, but they were stuck because they didn't know how to do a right turn (i.e. they just sat behind the line waiting for a gap in oncoming traffic that never came, rather than rolling into the intersection and waiting for the oncoming red as you're supposed to). So I'd been sitting there a while but the second time the green came around this car still wasn't rolling out into the intersection and the oncoming traffic stretched for days so I started looking for a gap in the other lane to pull out.
Behind me I had what @Forg calls a gerlytruk so couldn't see a whole lot. I poked the front out a bit to see more, saw a gap in traffic, pulled out, caught this car. It took me a while to understand what I did wrong. Essentially there were two identical cars one behind the other and I saw one in the rear view, and I saw the other in the side view, watched the first come past, moved a bit further, and then hit the second. I was maybe 30cm into the lane and I did see the second car basically as I tapped the throttle, so by the time we collided I had already stopped and had the clutch in. The other car just caught the bumper and yanked it forward.
All in all, could have been worse, I got too much car project on at the moment so I'm just going to sort it out through Shannons. The car got protected no claim bonus like two weeks ago. First time I've ever had an accident!
Anyway SHE'LL BE RIGHT, the damage is superficial, sourcing parts is the main difficulty but I know they are out there (DM me).
