I've trained my wife to find what we all "premium parks", those next to a pole so you can leave extra room.

Woke up in Canberra this morning with a flat. Called the Beaurepaires round the corner in Braddon and got it in at 9am for balance, tyre repair and wheel alignment. All four wheels were way out of balance. Tie rod end on the left side has excessive play so they didn't do the alignment.
nickm
hmm .. with a wheel that far out should have moved the tyre around

Hey this was a "please have a look I need to drive back to Sydney tomorrow" fix. I'll get my usual guy to take a look when I replace the tie rod ends.
nickm
I know I've been caught out the same. You only have a space saver?
jamesinc
Regular spare. All four tyres were out of balance pretty bad though. NFI how it wasn't vibrating a lot more.
jamesinc
@tim what happened to the tyre iron? :-O
jamesinc
So the servo didn't have a tyre iron, because why the fuck would a road house ever want to carry a tyre iron? Luckily the Bunnings was open, so I just went and got a 19mm socket and driver and did it in the Bunnings car park.
It's just one of those days :-P

Jesus! Whats with the tyre dramas. I dont know, you sure its not in the boot? I bought a extending one from repco, more leverage than the one in the car. It should be there, made sure when the car was sold...
tim
Know that bunnings carpark well, so does the 850.

I bought new spark plugs today, they should turn up by Friday. @Philia_Bear has a new cap, rotor, and 8mm leads. This weekend if I can I will get new tyres on it and get it tuned up, hopefully seeing some noticeable improvements in power output afterwards.
I also have an ME4.4 ECU, just waiting on a VAG-COM cable so I can flash it.
sucksqueezebangblow
Your going to flash some vag?
jamesinc
Yum.
Philia_Bear
Volvo blister pack is better imho
Just omg do whiteblocks hate non volvo plugs

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!

I used NGK iridiums in my last 850R and it drove very nicely. I'm otherwise aware of all the scepticism about plugs. I think it probably stems from the pre-gap setting being different between different manufacturers.
Philia_Bear
Sparks plugs are a dark science like tunning the carbs on a carbed v12 lambo

Tempe tyres wouldn't warranty on account of buckles on the wheels. Not going to lie, these wheels have seen some abuse. Am taking them to CNC wheels next week for a full refurb.
