Paul, you should go to a wrecker one day and just pull the loom from a Volvo. You'll have more Volvo wire than you know what to do with.

I used to do that. Would rather use brand new stuff, especially given the varying insulation qualities of Volvo wiring.

I went there today and they used a forklift to move 5 cars before lifting an engine I'd prep'd for removal, then putting it in the back of my wagon.

They did have international shipping and an English site in the works, but that's still yet to happen. It can be navigated with Google Translate or similar.
They do respond to emails in English, let us know if they're shipping internationally yet ;-)

We have over the years tried to send to other countries to see what potential problems there are. And for about 2yrs ago we started a project with a new system that would manage the trade abroad. The project is in its final phase, but we can not give you a date when it is finished. We need time to test it before it is launched

After a couple of parts but don't want to have to wait for overseas shipping. I'm in Canberra and I haven't found any shops locally except the local Volvo dealer which is very expensive.
1. Are there any decent Australian parts websites that have 240 parts?
2. Do Berrys in Vic ship interstate? Or must one actually pick it up from them?

Noooo , got my water pump and belts and pulleys from Ash . Pretty sure he can get hold of anything . Gave me choices when i purchased the pump etc with comparison prices between genuine and non gen bits. Send him an email is easiest .

Send Ash an email with what you want now and ring Berry's in the morning . I haven't dealt with Berry's so I can't comment . You may get an answer from Ash tonight or this time tomorrow .

+1's for FCP, Skandix, eEuroparts and IPD (Although I haven't bought anything from them in more than 12 months)

To be clear here I havent bought anything from eEuro or IPD in a while since the exchange rate made it a bit less attractive as their shipping is not the most competitive while both Skandix and FCP have made changes to their international dispatch to soften the blow and with Skandix I use DHL (German post office) with good results.

FCP actually has a dedicated international sales desk and they are constantly tweaking their freight prices to keep them as low as possible and I constantly send them info on changes to or proposed changes to tax and duties.

FCP also dont stock rubbish brands like Uro but as I also buy other euro brand parts (Merc, Saab etc) from them they do look after me.

If I had older 100 series volvos though id be back to IPD in a flash as they seem to stock more for the golden oldies.

Agreed, I buy most of my Landrover parts direct from the UK and even the heavy stuff has incredibly cheap freight although its all turned to crap this christmas (Im still waiting on stuff from Dec 5th)
