If you have a turbo 850/x70 your BCS will be a bit tired and slow. These GM ones are faster and can be used with a new plug ( i will get the site for them too , $2-7 delivered unless you have access to bits already )
They are talked about on VS and TB at times and cheaper than the IPD HD BCS upgrade that some say does nothing....

The link is to his store , i will check if he has em or another link to them. Its a GM part off one of their turbo cars.

Yep , or a variation of , i havent done mine yet but have the connectors to do it , you just need to get the right ones , i can link to a USA guy that does EVO stuff and can supply all sorts of connectors if needs be.
yeha ok.
I've been looking at replacing the TCV or BCS (or what ever you wanna call it) in my S60.
From all accounts people suggest to just go with the stock unit.
And while its not that expensive ($60-65) from FCP/IPD etc most of those places have a minimum shipping of $35 ><
Try Partsforvolvo online Britain , post is cheaper and they have quality parts also of their own brand as well as everything IPD / FCP have and even IPD stuff.
hmm, well this is about 15 mins too late :)
I've been talking with Kristian from Snabb and he's got 'their' version, which looks teh same as the IPD-HD unit.
They can slip one into the box that's going to be on its way here tomorrow. (with a FMIC inside ! )
How much is the shipping from Snabb? Need to replace mine too.
I've actually getting the Intercooler box collected via DHL (using work's account)
but the TCV on its own was only $19 for shipping or something when going through the check out.
The solenoid valve was US$75
Bugger ! Well @dan , check http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/ cos they sell SNABB stuff too i think in their performance parts section , post will/should be cheaper then even from Snabb.

OR , http://www.pwr.com.au/products/intercoolers and support your fellow Aussie ( oy oy oy ! ) A bit more exxy , i got quoted around $800 for a better replacement radiator for V70 but compared to Volvo part it is reasonable and a 'known' quality ( Ash put me on to them....) .

Hey @Cam ! I bet you cant wait !!!!
Ah cool. Might still try the GM route then.
Wow , $75 ? Maybe the later model is more but i do know peeps dont see the value in the IPD 850/x70 ones and had failures as well.....
That GM one linked to here is known as being great and cheaper than IPDs version.....
@Dan , i will check when i get back for the EVO guy that does connectors for the GM valves if you cant find a place that has them , i couldnt around Melbz but i am not into the ricer scene so maybe they are available here easily. You need the specific connector to match the GM part and splice it into the existing wires. Back soon!

The IPD is $90 so its a bit cheaper.
And yes I think you are right about not being any better than OEM.
But seeing as its costing me no more in freight it was cheaper than OEM (i'd go with the GM but it looks about the same price as the Volvo OEM and then you need to mess with getting the right electrical connections)

And yes Les I'm excited !
I don't get the hate for the IPD unit. Mine has been fine for the 4 years/20,000 k's I've had it (i know its not a long time or many k's). It holds the boost consitently at 17psi that its tuned for. It did replace a 200,000 k old one though.
i've just been chasing down a low boost issue and it seems that the TCV is a regular culprit.
I'm sure the aftermarket ones are fine.
but all depends on the application i guess.

I dont hate it.

Its from feedback i have picked up on Volvospeed and maybe Mathews that it either was defective or did not improve on an old unit so i would not risk it.

You have done well with the one you got and thats what we really want.

I had trouble with IPDs HD swaybay endlinks that failed in no time , after consulting the Australian distributor of some IPD parts , he has concluded that over 90% of units sold here failed and that in product sales means a total recall or deletion of the part from the catalogue but still they sell them..... BTW , MOOG ones are far better and cheaper....

Edit - Connector also know as Pico 5605pt windscreen washer connector.
Good job Watson ! Maybe you should have started this thread ! I seem to not have the time to get to the links before you do!!
