-Lights: the 780 was never available RHD, so the beam will fall to the wrong side
Very true, which is why I wanted to get it home before dark tonight. For the fix, I hope to find some Japanese spec headlights, as they permitted LHD cars on their roads, but Japan is a left-hand-traffic country (like AU). Either that, or get custom Fresnels made for the lenses.

-Dahsboard: Think it was unique to the 780, and as above, there was no RHD so that might be a good challenge to integrate something in that looks right.
Some of the uniqueness in the 780 dash is in the timber components, instead of the black plastic trim below the air vents on 700s, on which the plastic mounting pins often do the Hari-Kiri when you try to remove it. The 780 dash top has a recess on the passenger's side like an oversized coin tray above the glovebox (which is one of those silly things which are different between LHD and RHD in Sevens and Nines) and the 760T I owned in the USA didn't have that recess, so I'm hoping that and the timber are the only unique features of a 780 dash. The RHD plan is to try a standard 740 upper dash - if it will fit - and then add purdy timber bits like on the 780 dash. Failing that, Plan B is to modify the RHD 740 upper dash as necessary. However the lower dash and console appear to be standard Seven fitment, so the lower dash / console components from a RHD 700 will fit without dramas.

On the flip side, at least the "drivers" seat will be solid... I was always tempted to get a new drivers seat for my old V70 when I was in France for that same reason...
The seats in that car are simply awesome. The Italian leather has aged very well and so my 70 mile drive back from Port Botany this afternoon was very comfortable.
