After lots of research.
The NA and Turbo manifolds are the essentially the same, the difference being the opening for the throttle, the bolt spacing etc is exactly the same. You can fit a NA throttle to the turbo manifold for the same effect however you will need to machine the hole quite a bit larger for flow and to allow the butterfly to open correctly.
The 10V manifold is different and will not fit. Obviously the 10v cams are no good either.
Some 20V manifolds have variable length runners (vacuum operated flaps etc inside them) so are also undesirable.
The later inlet manifold has the throttle upside down on the underside and is useless as far as this mod is concerned.
You can bolt up a 960/S90 throttle to a NA manifold or machined Turbo manifold and it will do the same job however it will be out of alignment and will require further fiddling/modification to allow the linkage and/or tps to to function correctly.
The NA 850/X70 throttle has a plastic thing attached to the butterfly to direct airflow and modify throttle response in some way. This is not necessary and the plastic bulge restricts flow and throttle response on the turbo car.
The easiest solution to all of this is to get an NA manifold from a 20V 850 or early X70 along with its throttle body. You will then need to either remove the plastic bulge and braze/solder up the hole left in the butterfly or use the 960/S90 throttle butterfly (960/S90 butterfly is identical minus the plastic bulge).

Yeah , from the quick read of the links i put above , they made a butterfly , i think the later ETM mani (on the underside) is also a better mani and just a bit more work can have this working too , i will find that link on a build thread. You need to weld a boss to support the linkage etc.
A cam adjustment wiyth the NA cams is written about , Lucky has the details and adjustable cam gear is available too for radical tuning tho i expect.
Really a P2 motor with the VVT disabled is the best thing as the head is WAY better than ours.... Maybe a head swap ?

Rob , maybe a thread on throttle body , NA manifold , cams upgrade?

CamZH
just get a B5254T4 complete ! :)
egads (she/her)
Dual VVT! w00t! Complete with harness and turbos and stuff or complete block?
CamZH
i was thinking the whole package...
But hey, its not my car or time spent doing it :)

Doh, get does not equal got. *slaps forhead*
Very good plan though.

They're a very good tyre for the price. Not as quiet as my Pirelli P6 tyres were, but close, and the handling characteristics are solid.
My other recommendation would be the Federal 595.
Rob
I am going to have to buy 4 tyres next week and don't wish to spend a fortune, There are about 3 or 4 tyres i will get definite prices on, might add these to the list.
Ex850R
Ooohhh , 215/40/17 !! Wonder if the price goes north for that size? That would be fine for you Rob if 225/45/17 wasn't your choice. What are the std sizes for C70? I thought they were 225?

These are cheap ones from Tokyo , I see them on egay for cheap , should be good as I had Toyo T1R Sticky tires on my R once .
Rob
Yeah, standard is 225/45/17, will probably go 215's and spacers but, try and get back some turning radius.
Ex850R
It will have steering blocks on that are thicker than normal x70 I expect , you can go 4mm Teflon instead if it does.
Rob
I will do that. honestly the turning circle is shitful at the moment. I could live with it being bad but it really is a disgrace how it is now.
Ex850R
Worse than 850R? Or cos its so low? How about some more all round and interior shots?
Ex850R
I just saw Teflon , screw and drill and tap kit on PFS UK new site!
Rob
It is much worse. I hadn't done much around town driving in it until today. I tried to do a U turn at a 2 lane intersection and had to do a 3 point turn. and parking in a shopping centre carpark is next to impossible.
New tyres, spacers, wheel alignment, different blocks and then we will see how it goes. Might even do some before and after turning circle measurements.
I will get some more pictures, just trying to knock of a bunch of little things on my hit list first.

Yep , good luck.
