It’s time to part with my 240 sedan. Auto box. Owned for almost 14 years, but hasn’t seen much use in the last 5 years.
QLD safety certificate and 3 months rego as of Nov 19th. ~270,000 km.
Just replaced the cambelt, water pump, and leaking cam cover gasket.
Starts and drives very well.
I’ve kept up with maintenance during my ownership, including suspension bushes, engine and trans mounts, centre support bearing, valves adjusted plus new hushers, in-tank fuel pump and lots of little jobs.
Tyres are good, alloys were originally from a 1977 264 Anniversary edition.
On the minus side:
Quite a few very small dents and scratches, and the paint is not good on the bonnet and boot lid.
A few pieces of plastic interior trim are missing: door pockets and the glove box arms.
Central locking works using the door knob but not when the key is turned in the driver’s side lock. Boot only locks and unlocks using the central locking – I can’t get the key to turn in the boot lock.
Aircon compressor is a nearly new Sanden unit, but aircon system needs a charge (last time it was done was 2017). Converted to r134a.
Leaking some oil according to the safety inspector’s report, even after replacing the cam cover gasket – but within QLD inspection threshold.
It’s not going to win at any classic car shows, but is a solid running 240, and priced to sell.
