G'day from California, USA! Owner of a 1983 Volvo 240

Hello Y'all,

My name is Rease, and I’m based in California, USA. While I'm across the Pacific, I've heard great things about the technical knowledge and friendly community here on the Oz Volvo Forum, so I wanted to join and introduce myself.

I am the proud owner of a 1983 Volvo 240. that I use as a daily driver.

My plans for the car are to keep it running forever, do some light modifications], and I'm keen to share my progress and learn maintenance tips from all the experienced owners here.

Rease you should be able to keep your 240 going forever. The only issue might be getting parts as time passes. But they are indestructible( only rust will really kill them). They are fantastic cars.

Hi Rease, welcome,

Good chance your 93 has more advanced features than fitted to Australian spec 240’s for that year.

Does your 93 240 have;

ABS brakes, if do they work well?
Traction control (antispin rear differential)

Hope you learn heaps on this forum.
