ramrod He won’t know any better and neither do you, as far as service nsw is concerned.
The problem that can pop up here is if the OP is involved in a crash. (With the number of badly-driven gerlytrucks, Camrys, and shitbox Hyundai i30s with Instability Control infesting the roads these days, the probability of this in 2025 is quite high).
The insurers (CTP &/or vehicle) will run a mile(*) to avoid paying any claim if the vehicle is deemed 'defective' by reason of it not complying 100% with the terms of registration. Even if the modified vehicle is NOT at fault in the crash, the insurers will argue that the modified car never should have been on the road, just so they won't have to pay. I asked my wife (an experienced personal injury lawyer) about this, and she said insurers will look for any way not to pay a claim.
Which can be a problem if a typically bad Camry driver runs up your backside and sticks your nose into the rear end of the Roller that's in front of you. You've got whiplash, as does Jeeves in the very bent Roller, and the Camry's insurers will want a way to avoid paying up. So they'll point their finger at the modified vehicle. You might win the battle, but the war will be long.
AFAIC, it's not worth the risk or the worry to be aboard a potentially 'defective' (i.e. non-compliant) vehicle these days, when the risk can easily be avoided with a little preparation.
