Hi all,
I am making a new engine harness for my B21E (K-Jet) 1977 240.
I have made a number of 240 wiring harnesses over the years and at this point can produce exact replica factory harnesses.
In my case, I am converting from a 55A alternator to a 70A alternator so am upsizing the B+ and ground lead for it. I'm also integrating an extra wire for the oil pressure gauge.
Dave Barton over in the US sells harnesses for about $500 and while the cost base for producing them is fairly high, I can still beat his prices, plus it's Australian Made (and the cable is Australian made too). you can also ask for other customisations.
The only pattern I have right now is for my 77 244. I can make other harnesses but would need you to provide a core that I can use as a reference.
Anyway, if you have a 1977 K-Jet 240 and want a new harness, send me a DM.
You will need to re-use the connector housing on the firewall (or send it to me and I'll deal with it for you).
I think I would like to do more reproduction harnesses for other 240 models. For the later 240s, my only real limitation is that I don't have a good source for the Volvo bullet connectors other than Dave Barton. The issue is that I don't want to crimp or solder wires in the loom, which I'd have to do to use his pre-terminated pigtails. If someone sends me 245 tailgate harnesses I'll make drawings for those too as I've reproduced them in the past with great success, but don't have any on hand at the moment.
When I make the first harness I'll post some detail photos.
