So over the weekend I decided to do my first ever plugs, leads and coil. As expected I mis-marked the leads and spent hours with the help of Ed and Ash sorting out what was going on. The engine had too much fuel which didn't help realising I had the leads right but the engine just needed to clear.
Turns out too that the Fiesta's washer jets have a tendency to let through water onto the top of the head and rust out the plugs. Ford has since redesigned the washer with a seal but the PO and/or Ford decided against doing anything about it.
.
So luckily they came out with a bit of force, vacuumed it all out, greased the new plugs and it all came together well. Did some minor shit like getting the bonnet latch working properly, wiper blades, fuel system cleaner, those little oil breather filters (thanks Ash), tidying up some broken plastic, cutting down the intake and looking into the sagging bumper.
Fred is a fucker, but he's running well now. Slowly whittling down the list.
