This has been my first weekend free for a while so after a good sleep-in I started on swapping out the springs, installing the axle spacers and the rear bumper.
Original bumper and ride height:
After a lot of dicking around (including rounded wheel nuts from PO) I found unexpected rivets and that I would need to remove and replace the hub nuts (which I don't have) so had to skip them as I didn't want half a rivet rolling around the inside of the hub and brakes. Rear springs were a doddle which was a nice change lol.
The bumper was fiddly but straightforward although there was a pause while trying to find the missing drill. Ended up doing 95% with a hand drill then got a battery charged for the backup drill.
So got everything back together and then found that I needed a ring spanner with the offset head so that took another hour of running around in the heavy rain. Got home around 5 and cracked the shits, deciding to do the fronts next weekend!
Got the gear stick gaiter on (had to get rid of the original crap rubber thing) at least, replaced some broken interior plastics and got the clear XR4 side indicators on.
Kings Springs that are 35mm ish lower and stiffer from Ash, they'll look great with the spacers on. Hopefully it's a bit warmer when I do the fronts.
So yeah, I'm still terrible at this mechanic stuff but it's been fun so far although dreading doing the fronts. The rear bar looks great (no more looking like I've backed into something) and now debating whether I really want to change the lights.
