Peter arm Thanks to everyone who helped me get a solution to this. Especially Mike who is currently preparing my near new head and all associate bits for shipping to my dealer. Their head mechanic at Volvo Cars Lindfield said when I sent pics “No way this is a second hand head! It looks like it’s come direct from head office” Anyway, Thsnks again Mike and I’ll post more pics when it installed snd I’m back on road. One more question for everyone Is it worth me changing timing chain while engine is out They’ve quoted additional $1k to do this if I want. Do they ever become a problem for 115km plus cars like mine?
Massey165 I would make sure you get the old head and all the bits, Some of the gurus on Ozvolvo can then work out why it cracked. Best wishes Bob
