Bilstein Front Shockers Volvo 142

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of installing a set of front Bilstein shock absorbers on my Volvo 142, but I've run into a small issue — the shocks are slightly thicker than the hole in the lower control arm.

Has anyone encountered this before. Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Phil142S Yes, same on my 68 145 with Bilstein B6 shocks. I found I could file the hole out to make it just large enough for the shock to fit through…going on memory here as that was about 15 years ago.
