I want to sell my S40. It's a 2000 S4 T4 Super Tourer, 5-speed manual. It was previously setup for hillclimb and has a firm suspension.

After restoring the grille sash:

It goes hard, it's very fun to drive. I've tweaked the front suspension a little to optimise for street driving, and have taken it to Canberra and back a couple times where it has performed well. Around the city I get about 11L/100km.
Recent maintenance
- Complete PCV system
- Turbo oil drain seals
- Steering rack boots, tie rods and tie rod ends
- Front control arms
- Front strut tops
- Front brake pads
- Fuel injector harness
- Spark plugs (OEM)
- Timing belt and cam seals
- Drive belt and idler pulley
- All the soft coolant hoses
- All engine and gearbox mounts (engine main mounts are PU from MadPolly, rest are rubber)
- Added 2DIN headunit in with wireless Android Auto (it's cheap but gets the job done)
- Replaced (missing) rear speakers with Kickers
- Replaced all broken bulbs inside and out
- Replaced reverse lights switch on transmission
- High-effort rebuilt the entire windscreen wiper system and it's immaculate
- Installed brand-new OEM steering wheel
- Replaced missing grille sash/logo
- Replaced damaged/missing exterior trims
Most of the work is documented in my build thread: James's 2000 S40 T4 Super Tourer
Pros
- Tyres are all 1 year old with great tread
- A/C (electronic climate control) and heater work great
- Cruise control
- Sunroof works, no leaks
- Comes with a tub of spare parts, spare ECU, AFM, and some other bits
- Comes with a spare factory BBS alloy (it won't fit under the boot liner)
Cons
- Body has hail damage, and has a dent on the rear driver's quarter, and on the back of the boot lid
- CV boots are due for replacing (I already have new boots and seals)
- A-pillar trims and headliner need attention
- Interior is missing a couple of pieces in the footwells
- Interior is OK, driver's seat has a bunch of cracks, the foam itself is good
I bought it to drive around while I had some other cars laid up, it's been a great daily and is now
caught up on all its maintenance, but I want to replace it with a 3D printer.
Comes with NSW rego until April 2026, ~267,000km on the clock.
$4k negotiable, don't judge a book by its cover - come and take it for a spin! I'm in Telopea 2117.
