Does anyone know how to set the timing on above Volvo model?

Or point me to a manual that might help

Had head removed, now don’t know what position cams are supposed to go

Vav you need a bunch of special tools to do it. If you didn't pull the head off yourself, you won't have much fun putting it back together.

Can you confirm it's the VEA engine and not the ford engine. 2014 is right on the changeover. Maybe post a pic of your engine bay pre-dismantling or should be able to tell from vin/engine number

Ok it's a 2.0l Volvo VEA engine. You can get the cam locking tools for reasonable money. The eBay lots should be fine. This video should give you enough info to make an assessment on if you want to continue with the job. Have you organised the replacement parts yet?

have a vrs kit for cam seals and covers, but haven’t got a belt for it yet

Cam gears appear to go on camshaft in any position as well which I haven’t seen before. Definitely making it more fun to figure out which way they need to go

Vav Most Volvo's haven't had a keyway for their camshaft sprockets for 20years, lots of modern stuff doesn't have a crankshaft keyway anymore either, and most of the critical bolts are also single use torque to yield.

I'm not trying to talk you out of anything but this is the reason workshop repairs are expensive or they simply aren't interested in buying the tools and learning on your vehicle.
