Ramrodfunk I've taken apart 2 bosch alternators for my '93 240. Neither of them had a woodruff key which I thought was strange. Now I'm putting one back together but the shaft is spinning when I'm using my impact to try tighten it. Does anyone know what size the woodruff key shold be? Or how do I accuratly measure the keyway to buy a replacement? Cheers
Ramrodfunk ramrod Ok, I'll try again but the pulley just seems to spin on the shaft. Dewalt hand held impact.
ramrod You might need a bigger gun (maybe air driven) to get the nut down hard enough and fast enough that it tensions up correctly in one go But, it doesn’t have to be that super tight as long as the washer is under the nut
