Hi guys, the passenger CV has started to loudly click when I turn, and now needs replacement.

I was wondering what my options were for replacement/rebuild. Are there any brands that are reputable other then OEM, are there any rebuild places near sydney, Is it possible to diy rebuild, and if so where would I get parts.
Car is a 2000 volvo C70 coupe t5 with 270k km.
Many thanks,
Dan

By the time noise appears, the bearings are finished

What do the rubber boots look like? You should examine them at every service so that once the boot starts to tear, all you'll have to do is replace the boot. Ignore it, and you'll do damage to the bearings.

In your case, I would recommend replacing the entire shaft since metal to metal contact is not repairable.

Sandwood trading in Melbourne sell good quality complete joint rebuild kits and also have complete aftermarket shafts for most models

timbo Ahh awesome, would be keen to get a rebuild kit. Do you know if they ship and what their pricing is like?

They will ship and the prices are always reasonable considering in stock in Australia and you'll have them in a day or 2. Can't comment on latest pricing as I'm not on the tools anymore, but everything seems expensive now and I feel old.

If I wanted to go the replacement route, what would my options be?
