T3rrorbyt3 did a little bit of head light restoration this afternoon and quite happy with the results. before after
T3rrorbyt3 Philia_Bear;55593 wroteWhat kit did you use for the restoration? I used the jaylec kit from autopro but they don't give you much sandpaper If you buy the same kit just grab a full sheet of 600,1500 and 2000 wet and dry while you're there.
T3rrorbyt3 Vee_Que;55670 wroteIs the airbag kit an engineered one? Once it's in I'll have to get it engineered but it should pass with no problems as it has the Australian version of the e-level system (no adjustments while moving)
T3rrorbyt3 yeah me too! hopefully will have it all in by the ozvolvo meet in September but it might be pushing it as I'm overdue for a turbo rebuild and am heavily leaning towards upgrading to the k16 and discarding the stock k04.
Vee_Que How is a near new car overdue for a turbo rebuild? What are the symptoms you think may be a dying turbo?
T3rrorbyt3 ha yeah it looks like a near new car but it's got 220000kms on the clock, no symptoms yet. I can't exactly remember when Volvo suggest to rebuild the turbo but it was a fair while ago also the k16 will bring me up to roughly 415hp at the engine
Philia_Bear Thought about doing the ATP turbo kit with the 3076R? fairly larger bit more headroom in the turbo over the K16 and far more turbo options to consider upgrading to in future
T3rrorbyt3 I have thought about the ATP turbo kit but I've sourced the parts for the k16 upgrade at really good prices and with the state of the Aussie dollar at the moment the k16 is coming in at close to $1000 less with the tune and as the ATP guys don't supply a tune it would cost me an additional $800ish to get it tuned locally.
Vee_Que Its more money to spend in the future that's all! Ball bearing turbos ftw. But honestly, if the turbo isn't blowing oil and doesn't have excessive play, it will be fine..
T3rrorbyt3 It's a m66 so no problems there:)asides from the diff but that will be swapped with a quaife ATB when I do the clutch.
T3rrorbyt3 Something else, Kalmar union single mass flywheel AP racing billet pressure plate and a helix organic clutch plate:)
T3rrorbyt3 yeah a good organic clutch plate will last last me longer, is more streetable and will handle the hp I'm planning on running. As my car is my daily I'm also looking to keep engagement smooth.
Philia_Bear Sprung ceramic is fine for a dd as long as your not living in northern canukistan The ceramic (non puc) would for sure last longer then an organic
