My 240 has recently started fogging the inside of the windscreen once the coolant gets to operating temperature. I drove for 4 hours on the weekend on a sunny day in 30 degree heat and it fogged the left side of the windscreen the whole way.

Would this be a heater core issue? My blower motor stopped working a few years back so I guess this might be the time to replace both.

Edit: Not sure why but I have to add 4 tags to this before I can post it. Sorry trading post.

Any leaks visible under the dashboard?

Coolant level dropping?

System pressure test done?

On cars that have not had two year coolant changes it’s very easy to rust the heater core out

Coolant level seems to stay very solid and is a nice colour. Not some rusty bog water. I haven't had a good look under the dash but nothing is making feet damp. I haven't had it pressure tested.

Ok, so it looks like the heater core is leaking. Where is the best place to get good parts for this repair? I don't want to do all this work to replace the core and blower motor only to have nasty parts in there.

I would replace the core, hoses, firewall hose connector, fan motor and resistor.

I can find out what’s still available if you like

I've got the sts adapter, it's very high quality

Morning

The only parts I can order are the heater hoses (engine side), one hose to the heater core, and the firewall joiner.

The heater core itself and the other hose for it are no longer available unfortunately
