volvo v70t tune up time. Looking to replace plugs. Had car since new. I think Denlo volvo replaced them once under warranty.
Manual specs a volvo plug which is probably a rebranded bosch.
Most sites point to using a Bosch Platinum FR7DP+
But somehow after warranty I fitted Platinum NGK PFR6B to it 120000Km ago and they look alright after 120000Km! (And pulled out easy as I used Copper Grease.) They would want to be as these plugs were $35 each 15 years ago! Cant find any cross reference to these which says they were the right plug but Repco reference says they are correct plugs which must be why I used them. Anyway theyve been good for 120000km but time to change them
I bought some replacements from IPD around 15 years ago and they sold me FR7DPX instead of FR7DPP+. Im scared to use them because Bosch cross reference does not show them as a Volvo plug. (Shows them compatible with some nissans only) Correct dimensions and specs but they come with a 1.1mm gap instead of the 0.7mm gap on the FR7DPP+. I have no idea why IPD told me these were correct plugs but I'm wondering if anyone is using them with the 1.1mm gap?
Im installing the correct ones (FR7DPP+). Found them on clearance at Repco for $10 each.
But just wondering if anyone has used the FR7DPX with a 1.1mm gap without issues
