Major Ledfoot I don't need a complete gearbox. I just need the cover and long-type shifter assembly from a dead gearbox, as fitted to 140/164/1800E from YM 72 on. Preferably from a 72 or 73 model.
Major Ledfoot ramrod What’s the PN? Ideally, 254769·3. There's no NOS or repros that I'm aware of. The newer ones seldom break; the older ones occasionally have issues with breakages or wear. There's one on ebay at the moment in the US that I'm aware of, but I'm hoping to find something on this side of he pond.
1971_144GL Hi, I must have at least 15 transmissions. By long, do you mean the long gear stick model like in the early 140 cars, or do you want the one with the long protruding hosing for the gear stick remote from the box? I don't know how to identify a 72 73 I'm afraid.
Major Ledfoot ^ I'm after one like shown below, with a gear lever to suit. These are NOT the long gear stick types with the gear lever positioned directly over the box. The type with the threaded gear lever mounting (1A) is preferable - each uses a different type of gear lever / stick.
1971_144GL Hi, yes lots of them, maybe a couple with a thread. I will give you one for Christmas when we next have a beer.
