Hmm. I guess its something I can explore if I ever do buy a V70. It would either be late P2 (2007) or P3 (up to 2015) model so that probably does cover quite a range. I think I read a while ago that different P3 XC70s have different ground clearance. I'd mainly be wanting to gain a few inches just to be able to avoid catching low kerbs/driveways and the odd stone on gravel roads. That was the reason I had and like XC70s in the first place.. but I don't really want the hassle of maintaining the 4WD. I think with the P2 XC70 I'd be able to get away with removing the prop shaft but the P3 XC70 computer will probably bitch if everything isn't working properly and I did the same.
I've owned a P2 XC70 (had the pain of the angle gear being broken) and a P3 XC70 (had the pain of replacing the rear diff bearings) and Haldex expense.. so that's why I'm thinking V70 rather than XC70.. even though the XC70 looks way nicer in my opinion.
