OZ-market 144s got both types of mirrors -
Internal bolt mounting

My 73 has external screw mount mirrors, as does my 72 1800ES.
Good used ones with gaskets may be very hard to find now.
Ah yep mine has the external screws, I was cleaning the car and walked backwards into the mirror and it broke the mount where the spring is.
I'll have to have a look at getting new ones buy the sounds of it then

Ayup; that's their usual failure mode. It's a cast component under tension and eventually it snaps.
