240 series wheels

Hello,

I have searched Google for 240's with hotwire wheels used on the SLR torana's.

I can get copy blanks (hub and wheel stud holes drilled out to supplied specs) with varying sizes and offsets from a seller.

Would like to see what they like on a Brick, would any of you guys have photos of this setup.

These wheels are similar era so I reckon it would look good, but I would like to see how they look before I put down the cash.

Wello22 I don't have a photo, but I did very nearly end up with 15" hotwires from Neale Wheels. In the end I went with Formula Mesh because the hotwires maxed out at +13 offset due to brake calliper interference. Was a dealbreaker for me as I didn't want to roll the guards.

Toranas use 5x4.25” PCD which luckily for you, so does the 240.

Just be careful of the width. You probably cannot fit wider than 8” (offset and ride height dependent), without making modifications to the sheetmetal around the wheel arches

So, you don’t need to invest in the added expense of drilling wheels to suit that PCD.

If you’re thinking about buying hotwires, just do it. You can always sell them later if you change your mind and get your money back

@Wello22 if you've got some photos of the wheels anywhere, someone might be able to dummy-up the appearance on a 240 or find something sorta similar ... ?

I'm with @jamesinc those wheels will suit a 240 nicely (I think the chunky look would suit the earlier commando-bumper style in particular), and I think that's partially due to the factory wheel in a style that's pretty similar except for the centre-caps, the Multi-X (this picture stolen from one of @carnut222's posts).

I guess it's more "BBS" than "Hotwires", but still there's spokes & stuff. 🙂

The wheels shown in the picture are the 14” Scorpius not the 15” multi x (very similar and easy to mix the two up)

I also have my eyes on a set of undrilled Formula Mesh wheels from Neale's as I'm unable to find any more sets of Multi-X wheels (which were OE on the 780, but very hard to find in OZ). IMHO they suit the 140s and 240s.
