Hi there,

I've replaced the failed gear in my speedo.

I've inspected and cleared the inner cogs of broken teeth.

I've inspected the motor board for dry joints under a magnifing glass and they seem fine. I've previously repaired dry joints in relays.

I've tested the gears meshing and rotating and they spin without resistance.

I watched u-toob vids and read artcles, Dave Barton.

I'm still not getting results. Any Ideas.

Cheers

Bring the cluster to me (or the car) I’ll attempt to identify and solve the problem

@Ramrodfunk is the issue that the odometer isn't ticking over at all? Sometimes after repair they don't start ticking again right away.

Just after I posted this question I re-installed the cluster.

My car is due for rego and I didn't want to take it to my mechanic with an odometer reading identical to last year. So I decide

thanks for the help.

I would wind on some k's somehow. So rigged up my ikea electric screwdriver to the cog and wound on about 500 k's.
It's seems to have done the trick.
Working fine. Maybe a trick someone can use in the future.

You really gave it the beans! I had no idea the cluster could be spun so fast!
