got a rust free JDM version, needs rear main seal, crank seal, belt, w/pump gaskets, rocker gaskets, etc. Does anyone on here have one or know a good parts source in Oz?

RichGT changed the title to saving an '86 Honda City/Jazz, service parts needed .

It took me a while to realise why this post seemed so familiar … hiya! 🙂

PS. I did check Automotive Superstore yesterday and they didn’t have anything useful (they need their DB fixed actually - a bunch of stuff came up for “general fitment” but the descriptions said it was for stuff like a 302C Falcon).

Hi, yeah…I really don't need another project, but my girl had a turbo and always wanted another City . Drove this 1200kms from seller, sight-unseen. The only issue was curious throw of sparks from rear end which must have been oil on hot exhaust. Its JDM so no 5th gear, solid as a rock. And much fun to drive, but they all rusted - like everything else of the time, only a handful left.

I remember thinking how cool it was that Honda stuck a turbo 1.3 in a car so small & light!
I was a little disappointed to find out City Pro-T didn’t mean it was turbo. 🙂
Agree they were a fun jigger, a mate worked for an engineering firm that had one as a pool-car … not preferable to the Magna wagon with a boot full of auto-sampler equipment, but FAR preferable when only said mate & I in it. 🙂

I dont know an actual place to get parts for something like that, however I do listen to a podcast called Car Torque and one of the presenters is a real Honda guy and I get the impression that he likes helping people with their older Hondas. The hosts are located in Melbourne are reasonably local. His name is David Prince and he sounds very knowledgeable about anything Honda related.

He has a website for his company: https://newliferepairs.com.au/technicians/inner-eastern-suburbs-david-prince/

Might be worth a try.

It was suggested to me that Permaseal probably sells a kit or kits; that you could prolly search their site for part-numbers, and once you have that you can try places that can get Permaseal stuff in and even try searching places like eBay and Amazon.

Oh ... also, this is totally new to me but JDM people (hence anyone working on cars in NZ 🙂) are probably au fait with:
https://www.amayama.com/en

Although I believe that's not necessarily the cheapest approach.

Thanks guys, appreciated
