Overdrive repair manual

folks, Volvo repair manual WANTED. im chasing the transmission (gearbox) repair manual for mid-80's on 200 or 700 series with type J or PJ type overdrive. all i really need is the overdrive section so can anyone help with a digital copy or even just a handful of pics of the specs pages will help me get the details i need. there were a few minor internal changes across the model ranges, but provided the info covers the Type J and PJ, then that will be fine. many thanks

I had to use a combination of the 240 green book and 140 green book to get full details of everything. It was frustrating at times.

Thanks, ive repaired several of them over several decades, but the re a differences in the one i now have in bits. thankfully, the various manuals describe updates which i was not aware of. were you able to buy new parts locally or did it all have to get imported?

tery all imported. I got everything from VP Autoparts. If you need to replace the annulus or conical clutch, Rimmer Bros in the US have it all e.g. https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID005240

I searched high and low for an Australian wet clutch company that could bond new friction material to a j-type clutch cone, but none could do such a small clutch.

The fat o-rings of the very late p-j crossover pistons can be sourced from bearing places like CBC Bearings etc.

thanks again guys. overdrive Services in UK seems to be marginally cheaper than VP in USA, which is surprising since the current Laycock Overdrive owners , is Gear Vendors in USA (almost 20 years I recall) . Ive assumed all the production equipment went there when laycock sold out to them …. Yes, ive found O rings locally.

I note VP dont list the later P type overdrive used in some 740's and 940's
