LEFT MIRROR (update)
Fully installed and works a treat. I think the new glass is the convex version and not a flat glass like my original. Heating works nicely too 👌

STRUT BRACE (update):
After a couple of trials I decided to just bend the black ABS connector bracket and it looks cleaner albeit a tight fit with the bonnet protection. Freshly painted and installed.

SPARE WHEEL:
The previous owner had purchased a brand new spare wheel with a Pirelli tyre.
I went through my boot stock, pumped the tyre as it was at 14psi (I'll keep an eye on this) and cleaned out the wheel well.

REAR WINDOW WASHER (update)
New parts arrived from Skandix,

Pump
Bracket
Check valves
I also fixed the electrical connector whilst I was in there.

ECC GLOBES:
I pulled apart the ECC unit to replace the T5 globes. I was expecting them to be your standard 12v 1.2w globe but they're in fact 14v 1.4w. Maybe these are used to increase life span? 2 out of 3 of mine had failed.
Of course I had to fetch the correct globes from skandix - a premium price tag is attached to these 😬

242GT not sure about that, my T5R had a full size spare maybe it was put there by a previous owner or was just a UK/European thing? Never really noticed that before

I think morch is a Japanese import , not sure on that , maybe varied from country to country.
Anyone know of the difference in model between country's

REAR SEAT RATTLE:
one of the first issues I noticed after buying the car was the back seat would rattle when hitting a bump. The seat back had a lot of foreplay on the latch mechanism.
I later discovered that the mechanism has a foam block installed from factory which stops the rattle. This foam block deteriorates over time and fails.
I 3D printed new blocks from 98TPU with an infill of 10% to give a nice spongey feel.

CENTRE CONSOLE WORKS:
My passenger window stopped working so I diagnosed it to be the switch. Turns out the switch can be replaced but it's easier to replace the entire panel.
See pictures of how it's all hard wired to each switch 😵
I also made a rear heated seat harness and cleaned entire console from decades of coffee spills haha
I have a rear heated seat realy coming as we speak and just need to source heated pads and we're good to go 😁

Crazy how those window switches appear to be hard wired. Almost looks like the wires are push fit on the switch pins?? Or are they soldered?

carnut222 soldered. Blew my mind haha
So I stuffed up and chopped the harness on the panel I took from the wreckers (I assumed it was all small plugs under the cover that I'd then just swap over when I got home) got home and pulled cover off to find they were all soldered.
So I ended up swapping over the original harness onto the new block.

Fun Fact:
Also the rear heated seat switches are not like the front switches.

Front switches are on and off type
Rear switches are timed like the demister switch - reason being that not many people sit in the back so they time off in the event the passenger leaves without turning off.

So is that done using a seat belt sensor type switching system under the seat

242GT no. They used the switches shown above but they're timed via the relay unlike the front which is just on and off

HEADLIGHTS:
The 2 items I'm trying to tick off here are:

Vacuum metalising of the reflectors
Headlight harness replacement

Reflectors have been sent to Hyqual &
I made new harnesses last night to replace the old crumbling harness (common p80 issue)
Tempted to make a few more and sell them if anybody was interested.
