B230FT pistons.

Bought a lucky-dip B230FT. Pulled the head off today and there's a decent lip on the bores.

Any recommendations for a source of standard-type oversized pistons?
Car will be running stock boost, stock turbo and an automatic, so it doesn't really warrant aftermarket forged pistons.

It's an early 230FT, if that matters.

Spac AFAIK, B230FT first oversize pistons can be had easily from FCP.

OTOH, the most reliable source I've found for B230F (NA) pistons has been Skandix. (I tried ordering NA slugs from VP Auto, but in January, they weren't expecting slugs in stock until June; Skandix's site says "6 weeks preorder for delivery" but mine shipped when I ordered 'em).

Unfortunately, CVI don't sell bits to us non-businesses any more.

I’ve got two B230s if you want to just swap.

One was a guys turbo 245 he drifted a bit. He is putting in a Foxbody 5.0 instead. Smart guy, tuned the Microsquirt himself for that setup. I think I’ve got everything but my memory if fvkd but still need to pick up some dirty bits off him. Can do whole deal of what I got.

Or a BmG shelf motor that’s got known history from a customer of theirs, it’s currently in my I’ll fated 245 project but will come out or take whole car for a price just for you. (A guy does want the headlights and grille for his 242 that’s got wrong ones in it now. )

Hey @Spac, IMO check with a bore gauge, or get your machine shop to check, how worn the bores are, they can get pretty oval at the bottom, enough that you may need to skip 1st o/s and go to 2nd.
